Dry, windy conditions in March mean fire season in the South.
Not the scale of fires that plague the western US. I photographed
part of this one from the safety of my kayak on Lake Hartwell
across from Twin Falls Park. It covered a section of the lake
with a lot of smoke and some falling ash.
