The third year (I think) for this event and it keeps getting bigger and better. This year featured 4 Allied tanks, a German tank killer and halftrack, more support trucks, troops and a German Cavalry scout. An expanded and relocated Allied camp and a larger German encampment seemed well received. A few well placed pyro charges (also new, IIRC) added even more realism.
As in past years, rides were available in the Foundation's Stearman and T6 and the food vendor had some good eats. After the last show, the tankers treated those present in the allied camp to a little treat when they climbed a sand pile and drove off the front slope. I was thrilled as the light was perfect! I saw some old friends, including a few I never expected to see. The Germans were mostly the same bunch I had seen in NY this August and were very good (again).
Thanks to those who took a minute to allow me to get a shot or two and/or give me the heads up for a photo op.
It's hard to edit 2500 shots down to a few dozen, but I think these are the day's best. All images are copyrighted and can not be copied, downloaded, printed or used in any way without my written permission.
