I went back again to try a couple of different things. As the ISO's last year were reasonable, I took a different body that has sensor stabilization in addition to the lens stabilization and the external gyrostabilizer. I think the keeper rate was similar but the other body does focus better in the dark. Even with all the stabilization, it is tough shooting at 1 second shutter speeds on a trolley that is rocking and rolling.
