The original graves of Ludwig van Beethoven and Franz Schubert were located in the Währing Cemetery, which was later closed and became Schubert Park. The famous musicians were exhumed and reinterred in honorary graves at the Central Cemetery. However, their gravestones were also left in what is now Schubert Park. Franz Schubert wanted his grave next to Beethoven's. After the exhumation and transfer to the Central Cemetery, the honorary grave arrangement for the two musicians was also retained there

Das ursprüngliche Grab von Ludwig van Beethoven und auch das von Franz Schubert war am Währinger Friedhof,der später aufgelassen wurde und zum Schubertpark wurde.Die berühmten Leute wurden exhumiert und am Zentralfriedhof in Ehrengräbern bestattet.Man ließ jedoch auch die Grabdenkmäler weiterhin am jetzingen Schubertpark.Franz Schubert wollte sein Grab neben Beethoven haben.Nach der Exhumierung und Überstellung in den Zentralfriedhof ließ man auch dort diese Ehrengräberanordnung der beiden Musiker.
