Maximilian Hegele (* May 25, 1873 in Vienna; † March 12, 1945 in the same city) was an Austrian architect of the Art Nouveau and Heimatstil styles.

.......In 1903, Hegele won the architectural competition for the design of Vienna's Central Cemetery, culminating in the Karl Borromäus Church, built between 1908 and 1910/1911. This church is considered both the beginning and the pinnacle of his career. He also designed the main portal and mortuary halls I and II.......

....... He rests in an honorary grave in the Hadersdorf-Weidlingau cemetery (Section 1, Group L, Number 18).
