Sea Snail

North Berwick

Well, I cleaned the CCD on my D70. It is not perfect, still a few marks, but much better than before.

Now that the Nikon is useable again, I had my first proper opportunity to try out the Sigma 105 mm macro I bought last week.
I went for a walk along the beach looking for small objects to photograph. This sea snail provided the most colourful picture.
He (I'm guessing) is about 8 mm across and was quite difficult because,
at this magnification, he was slithering out of the frame while I was trying to set the exposure and focus.

At least he held still! Nice colour against the squidgy green. This sensor cleaning thing sounds complicated :-0

He looks a bit like dried lemon peel...LOL !! I imagine he's having quite a feast there on that kelp. Super shot, Bill.

Yuck... far too much detail for my liking. LOL.

Like the idea of the snail 'rushing' out of the shot!!

Great shot - sure you didn't superglue the snail to the rock? :-)
