Skippy Steaks

Adelaide, Australia

Growing up as a young boy in the UK, my first exposure to Australia was the TV series "Skippy the Bush Kangaroo".
I can still recall the theme music but never expected to eat the animal.

I'd skip it too, but really interesting to see this. V

Interesting! I wonder when they'll start exporting it to the Stataes.

I remember that show as well, Bill. V

Kangaroo meat is is very healthy. High use these days in fine dining restaurants.
low in cholesterol and fat, high in protein, iron, zinc and conjugated linoleic acid, which reduces blood pressure.

Lamb is THE most expensive along with beef, not as Helen remembers. I'm sure you have discovered this.

Incidentally Bill, I made Cullen Skink last evening using the recipe you sent me in 2015 :) Delicious of course.

I don't remember ever seeing kangaroo for sale during our years in Australia! Luckily they have a lot of lamb, and at least when we were there, it was incredibly cheap.

it might prove tasty, and even nutritious, putting a hop in your step and jump..

I'm with you and think I will skip the Skippy Steaks.
