Local Temple Celebration

Owari Asahi, Aichi-ken

This was at a very local temple near to Mika's family home.
Early in the morning, the temple volunteers offered hot drinks and soup to visitors.
The bronze urn in the foreground is on a wood-fired burner to boil the water, served using the bamboo ladle.

That's a great "slice of life" shot. Getting it with the little PowerShot is not a bad idea either; it's less "intimidating" to subjects than larger DSLRs.
