Hashi-Oki

This little porcelain dog is a chopstick rest I bought in Japan over 15 years ago.
He remains loyal and does good service holding the sticky end of the hashi away from the table.

And last year was a dry fountain.

Clever device, and the red of the chopsticks sets off well against the blue and white. But I still prefer knives and forks.

Simple but captivating capture. I used to collect these kinds of things as well as hashi while living in Japan, but don't use them as I never use chopsticks. Maybe photographing them is a good idea!
