Reginald

I was cutting back some of the shrubs in my patio pots this afternoon.
Accidentally I damaged the web of this European garden or cross spider.
It seemed a bit annoyed with me, and more so while I took its picture.
At the time I called it Reginald, but I now think it is a girl (they are larger than the boys), so I guess it is Regina.
You can see it was busy wrapping its dinner (a small fly) in silk.
This was taken with the old manual focus Oly macro lens and an extension tube. Not pin sharp, but pretty good.

scary and well captured,
PS Nice to see other people use photography to give a break in the work of gardening!

Hate spiders but must admit this is a fine close up of this horror, well done...V

Nice shot, but I love that you interrupted your yard work to photograph a spider!

Some Regina. Quite adept. V

It would be a cross spider if you damaged her web.

Excellent macro with super detail. I do sort of feel sorry for the fly, though.
