Loch Faskally and Pitlochry Dam

Pitlochry

Another 10 mile walk today. This time along some rivers and lochs in Perthshire.
This is Loch Faskally, which is a man-made loch that formed when Pitlochry dam was built across the River Tummel, in 1950, as part of a regional hydroelectric scheme.
Beside the dam is a fish ladder, for the salmon to swim upstream to their breeding grounds.

Lovely. The designers must have been environmentally friendly to have built a salmon ladder.V
