These circles were caused by some idiot that drove his BMW down onto the beach and was doing 'doughnuts'.
The beach was fairly busy with families and children, so he was soon run off by the harbour master.
I admit to hoping he got stuck in the sand with the rising tide.
Thirty grand of BMW in the water would have been an unusual picture, and caused me a case of schadenfreude.
Still, it gave me some foreground interest in this picture.
