Moose

are the largest member of the deer family weighing as much as 1,600 lbs. They live in large dense forests in the subarctic .. not particularly easy to find.

I made the long trip up north 3 times in as many years in search of the gentle giants but without success of seeing any... until now.

I got lucky this year and saw them 4 times in the span of less than 2 days. 6 moose in total!
And maybe in appreciation of my efforts, at 7:30 in the morning, the 2 in the ditch near the road gave me the show of a life time, hanging around walking gracefully really close to us for close to 10 minutes before they retreated back to their forest. And then in their own moosey way they let us know to go away! Lovely creatures in all their states.

In this effort, special thanks goes out to Hanaa the excellent moose spotter.

PS. watch for my upcoming new song release: "nehna wel moose jeeran.." :)
