This is one of many US Forest Service cabins that can be rented in US National forests (this one is in the Chugach National Forest). The daily rental fee is very reasonable. There is bunk space for about 6 to 8 people, a table with benches, a wood stove to warm the cabin (and can really make it into a sauna), a counter with shelves for cooking and storage, a saw and typically an axe or a maul for cutting and chopping firewood, and a broom and dustpan for cleaning up. To the left is a small shelter to keep firewood dry. This cabin may have also had a shelter for horses and there is an outhouse. Cabins like this are very comfortable and in heavy use areas, are reserved typically long in advance.
