This was my house in Mwika, Zambia from 1999 to 2001. It was a typical village house with a thatched roof, mud walls, a small living room, bedroom, a porch and a "kitchen" or storage room where I kept my bicycle, charcoal and other "stuff". I cooked on the porch, had a small table, a few chairs, a bed and a shelf for books inside. A Trek mountain bike was my mode of transportation, with which I got around to see the farmers with whom I worked, went into town for food and other things, and travelled to meet other Peace Corps volunteers.
