This species of fish is so sought after that keeping it in better condition as soon as it came out of the fisher's nets would have made it worth a lot more. Fishing cooperatives working with fish tenders to get the fish on ice as soon as possible could some day make the quality good enough for export markets. This fish is no longer in that category.
