Adding salt to the jars of fish to be canned.

I use about 1/2 teaspoon of salt per jar. It is enough for some tastes, but adding more can be too much and, once canned, can't be easily removed. Other spices, tomatoes, onions, garlic, hot sauce, etc. could be added for individual tastes, but I thought it best to keep it simple with this introductory lesson.
