Sunset over the President's residence

The Romanian 'White House' is not so white and it is a palace called 'Cotroceni' the name comes from the hill with the same name.
Bucharest has two rivers cutting him from North-West to South-East which makes the city looking like having some small hills.
The Cotroceni Palace is the offical residence of the President of Romania and is located where the Cotroceni hill starts (West side of the city).
My home apt. is located right on the top of the hill, so this makes me higher than the President, right? :D
This picture view is from the roof of a eight floors building located in the valley generated by one of the rivers. There is my office.
Shots was taken in my 'coffee' break. :D Too bad there was no wind so we cannot see the Romanian flag from the President's residence waving over the sunset.

The Cotroceni Palace, is also a museum, incorporates French, Romanian, Art Nouveau, and other styles of architecture, was constructed in the late 19th century as the home of Romania's royal family.
The former dictator never use this palace. He didn't like it because was the property of royal family. For a long time before communism drop down the power in 1989, the palace was like a big club for childrens. They practice sports here, swimming, tennis, crafts, motor sports, table tennis, cycling and so many others.
After a devastating 1977 earthquake, it was rebuilt and a wing added where the president now has offices. The lavish furnishings, art, and personal effects afford a glimpse into the lives of Romania's former royalty..
We all consider that the former dicatator had the intention to move there, but he didn't had time to catch that day. Bad for him, good for us! ;-)

Beautiful colors and nice composition. I'd love to see this after it's been run through Noise Ninja (or another like software) to reduce the grain. Nice capture
