Summer houses were set up in Oslo as people moved away from agriculture to the city.
Parcels of land were made available for growing vegetables and fruit.
They are some what like the English alotment system, but what were originally garden sheds,
eventaully became summer houses. Lack of a permanent water system prevents their use during the winter months.
