Becky sold me her kayak, an Eddyline Sea Star. It is a lightly used 1997 boat, in need of fine tuning to dovetail with my needs. These photos describe some of that.
The rear of the coaming was detached, so I cleaned out the old filler/adhesive and replaced it with epoxy/glass/silica.
Previous photo was the port underside; this is the starboard. Eddyline polyester resin and filler had embrittled and failed.
Black electricians tape around coaming seal, in glueup phase. Boat upside down; photo reversed.
Finished seam; fresh electricians tape completes the job. Right side up.
Cutting Trex to reinforce and support rear of seat; seatback moved rearward.
Finished cut; more photos of finished job to come.
Boat needed some ballast forward when empty for good trim. This is finished setup.
MSR bladder with about 15 lbs of water is about right. Velcro hook and loop closures.
Here shown open; bladder is against forward bulkhead, in forward compartment.
Strap/Velcro arrangements trapped under deck rigging simplify slipping the bladder inside.
Anchors are PVC extrusions epoxied to the hull with Aquamend (aka PC-11?), a two-part putty that cures underwater.
Reversed clamps push extrusions in place, keyed using a plywood insert, notched for correct angle.
