Macro shots of a 1.1mm ball point pen

These shots were taken with an olympus to EOS adapter ring and a 50mm standard OM1 lens, Extension tubes and two 2X teleconverters stacked one after the other. The blue haze is reflection off the sensor inside the camera and the teleconverter. You can achieve just about the same magnification with a reversed 18-55mm on the 75mm-300mm zoom. No aperture control though on the first lens. Likewise a reversed 17-55mm gets really high magnifications when reversed but no aperture at all is available. The 25mm Canon extension tubes will give up close to 1X mag with the 18-55mm zoom. I have added two more galleries at the end of these images now that I have a Canon EF 25 II extension tube; one gallery explores the EF 25 II and the other revisits the ballpoint pen at a slightly higher magnification. Comments appreciated.
