the Homestead tavern/nightclub was in the 3oo block of 6th st. between illinois ave and st louis ave. Bill Hamiton owned it. had a dauhter Wilma. My monther Opal was a waitress there for many years and Ernie was one of the bartenders. i would go their as a little kid 6 or 7 years old and would sing with the band, Baldie who played the piano and mr Campbell played the drums and customers would through change when i was finished. i sang Nat King Cole song To Young. this was in the late 40's.I lived in the 400 block of 7th
