2018 A home exchange in a delightful suburb with new areas to explore and familiar places to enjoy again. Streetscapes of fine "Queenslander" timber houses in Art Nouveau style with decorative lattice and fretwork.

Our timber house, set in lush sub tropical gardens, on two levels has many lovely original leadlight windows, large rooms and timber painted staircases. Most Queensland houses are timber and have lattice work, shutters and shady verandahs because of the climate. They are mostly set high off the ground with open areas or garages underneath.The purpose is to catch breezes and cool air.

2025 A short return to Brisbane on my own to visit family and friends. My hotel next to the Brisbane River and close to the cultural centre, proved a perfect destination when without a car. Walking distance from the art galleries and state library and along the riverside walking paths was a delight.
