We visit this beautiful part of Australia regularly as we have family living there, in Mooloolaba. We have often rented lovely apartments, usually with pool and views of the coast. We now frequently stay with the family in their new large home. Walking the ocean foreshore, the inland boardwalks and exploring beyond is always a pleasure.
At one stage we also spent a pleasant two weeks in the leafy mountain town of Buderim, just ten minutes from Mooloolaba, spending time with our family not far away.
We love our usual early morning walk from Alexandra Headland to the spit at the mouth of the Mooloolah River, and back along the beach for a swim in the surf.
We enjoyed our own swimming pool, the company of the family and a visit to our London exchangees who have built a house at Tewantin.
Often, days are spent re-exploring the delightful towns of Maleny, Montville and Mapleton in the Blackall Ranges.
A wintery visit to family in Mooloolaba after a short sojourn with friends in Brisbane. We rented a car to drive from Brisbane and kept it for our return there and to fly home. Always lovely and always the enjoyable walks along the beach and out to the spit, but this time a cold, sometimes grey atmosphere. Still the tourists from wherever and still many enjoying the beach and walks along the ocean shore, as we certainly did. We discovered the Maroochy Bushland Regional Botanic Garden and spent a pleasant morning wandering the paths, gardens and woods and admiring many of the sculptures created from local stone.
Mid May 2015 and a visit to a growing family. Teenage boys, one driving, one an exceptional student, girlfriends, family dog .....
2017 visit to see very grown up boys and enjoy Mooloolabah all over again. The familiarity of favourite places is great. Both boys so tall, happy and successful.
