This heritage railway operates steam hauled period passenger carriages for sixteen miles along the beautiful Severn River valley between Kidderminster, Bewdley and Bridgnorth. The stations, fittings, carriages and engines have been lovingly restored, and now run, by enthusiastic and dedicated volunteers.
We took a trip from Bridgnorth to Bewdley, where we alighted for lunch and a wander through the streets. Bewdley has a river frontage of a Georgian row of terraced houses, said to be the best in this part of the country.
We returned on the train to Bridgnorth and spent time in that beautiful town, the high-town and low-town either side of the River Severn.
