A rare chance to witness the pageant of Royalty as the Queen returned from the Opening of Parliament.

I had decided to stroll from Piccadiily through Green Park and on to the Mall and eventually to St James.

The crowds were quite thin, most people having left after the progression to Parliament. I spoke to a lady who explained that the Queen would be returning from the opening of Parliament very soon so I waited with her ina clear position along the barricade on The Mall. It was just as exciting as the Queen returned an hour later.
