London 2012

Leaving our home exchange in the West Midlands, we travelled by train from Wolverhampton to Marylebone station and trundled our way through London to our hotel in Tavistock Place, Bloomsbury, close to Tavistock Square, Russell Square, the British Museum and the University of London.

Our nearest tube station was Russell Square with which we became most familiar.

Despite fairly grey spring weather, London had a cheerful and patriotic atmosphere as it prepared for the Queen's Diamond Jubilee in early June. Kensington Palace has been excellently refurbished and is presenting an innovative new display "Victoria Revealed" to coinside with the Royal Diamond Jubilee. See my blog post.

We loved revisiting favourite places and there is always some other spot as yet unexplored or to be more thoroughly investigated. A week is never enough, a year there is still not enough. I love it.
