At the Berrimah Passenger Terminal, Darwin, the LONG Ghan awaited us, thirty-six gleaming silver carriages from A to S plus several staff and dining cars all embossed with the distinctive red Ghan insignias, extending almost a kilometre. Ours was ‘Q' carriage and a very long walk down to find it, our carriage attendant waiting to assist us into our cabin, small but stocked with all needs and well arranged.
