Taken from our car (through a dirty window), loaded on and ready to be transported through the mountains and down to Kandesteg. The train on the right hasjust come in to goppenstein from Kandesteg.
Long lines of cars are loaded on the trains which run every 20 minutes.
The alternative is to drive a hair-raising winding road and eight road tunnels, one nearly 3 km!
