Above Ruedesheim, and reached by a climb or a ride on the cable car high above the sloping vineyards, is the Neiderwald Monument. The colossal female statue of Germania, built in the 1870/80's, to celebrate a united Germany, stands high on the hilltop.
Below, and set in delightful gardens, is a Palladian rotunda, also with a commanding view of the Rhine Valley below.
