Hiroshima

We travelled from Kyoto to Hiroshima to visit the Peace Memorial Park "constructed as a commemorative facility in accordance with the Hiroshima Peace Memorial City Construction Law promulgated in August 1948, under the project to make the whole neighbourhood of the Nakajima district into a symbol of everlasting peace and a recreation area for citizens."

The park was renovated into its current state in readiness for the 50th anniversary of the A-Bombing.

The Hiroshima Peace Memorial Ceremony is held in this park on August 6th every year.

A very interesting reportage on this park commemorating an awful event. V. We have been there some years ago and it was very moving to visit this place.
