We spent a week in July in a three level family home in Balmain. We met our exchangees at Sydney Airport where they led us to their car and we exchanged keys. They would find our car waiting at Melbourne Airport on their arrival.

The house was just a few doors from the Thames St Ferry Wharf at Balmain, with wonderful views across the water to the Sydney Harbour Bridge. We enjoyed exploring Balmain, the old restored terraces and pubs, Darling St shops and restaurants and venturing further around the harbour on foot or by ferry. It was fun to join the commuters on the ferries to Circular Quay and in the city we wandered along Macquarie St, through the Domain, the city streets and around The Rocks.

The car was used only once when we drove to the beaches of Bronte, Clovelly and Coogee where we walked some of the coastal trail.
