Two more of Betio’s so-called ‘wild’ bars – the Sunset Bar upstairs and the Nikob Asaa Bar downstairs. I noticed that nearly everyone in Kiribati gets around in bare feet – even in shops and offices. I saw a few people wearing rubber thongs, but nobody wearing shoes, except a few people at the airport who I assume were traveling to other countries (and they were wearing mainly leather sandals).
