Two rare Mike England custom made butterfly knives. The custom maker Mike England began making knives in 1977, in Cordell, Oklahoma, and was done making knives by 1985. His Rambo-style survival knives, made during the survival knife craze, were extremely well-made and in some cases very innovative. Today, if you can find one, they command alot of money. Mr. England did very nice work, top-notch, particularly his fit and finish are admired by other knifemakers. Other than that I don't know much about him so information is welcome. The top one is a weehawk with stainless steel handles. It is marked "1 of 1." Knife on the bottom has an interesting blade profile, I don't know what to call it. I am curious to know if its handles are aluminum or titanium. My guess is aluminum. Some of my questions are:
1) Who was Mike England and what sort of knifemaking work did he do?
2) How many butterfly knives did he make? About how many other knives total?
3) Was his work of high quality and is it respected?
4) Approximate worth of these two knives.
5) Any other info anyone knows about the maker or the knives.
6) Who his big customers were or if there are any dedicated M. England collectors out there.
I talked to Mike two weeks ago and then received a custom knife he made for me. Beautiful work and first class quality. He and his wife are still living in Cordell, OK and are both healthy as is their cat Phoebe.

i used to see 2 or 3 mike england fixed blade survival knives at fred bakers outdoor america in oklahoma city. back in the mid to late 80's these knive commanded aconsiderable price for that toma approx. 285.00 to 350.00. im sad yo say that i never got to buy one but every tinme i went into that store i asked to hold and fondle each of 2 knives, they had a gray satin finish and had green cord on the handle. by the time i finally saved enough monry for one of them, they were gone. fast forward to 2002. i was given a mike england combat dagger, similar to the long bladed gerber like mike echanis carried. i was blown away. i had never seen this model. im still on the lookout for one of those older bowies from mr. england i am glad to hear he is still alive and making blades. larrymc

Mike England is alive and well today. He has not passed away and still makes knives to this day. I know this because he is my father.
