Handle Alignment

With my Benchmade I never seemed to notice this problem, but do you ever notice how, after hours and hours of routine abuse your 2nd rate Balisong (in my case, my heavy handled Jaguars) that the handles seem 'looser'? A Nib (New In Box) Benchmade production Balisong has a handle alignment where Line 1 is aligned to Line 2, sometimes Line 2 is above Line 1. I just recently 're-tightened' the handles to my Jaguar 259 copy, before this, the displacement (space between Line 1 and Line 2) was double in length. Using a vise grip, I tightened the top 'clamp' of the handles.

Now you might ask what difference does it make if the handles are 'misaligned'. Well for one it is quite dangerous, and 'harder to manipulate' First of all, during manipulation the handles and blade are misaligned. There is more friction and the blade does not 'shoot into' the inner handle 'ditch', making manipulation awkward, if it doesn't totally slow you down it'll stop you in your tracks. It is 'dangerous' in the sense that if the blade doesn't shoot into the handle or flows/flips along a common centerline you might accidentally grab onto your open blade. because the blade does not slide into the ditch when you expect it to. When flipping Jaguar Baligons or heavy handled 2nd rate Balisongs, it is best to realign your handles and check your pins before 'abuse'
