Sideman is where artists and writers came to create in the 1940's to get away from it all. Beautiful terraced rice fields and a boulder strewn river called "Unda".

The scenery and the lifestyle here might be as close to the 1920's stereotype as possible, with sweeping valleys, rice terraces and Balinese locals going about their daily routine, blissfully unworried by the 21st century.
