April 11th 2007 - the ride of a lifetime. Last weekend our EAA chapter hosted the Aluminum Overcast tour for the San Diego area. The B-17 is touring the country, giving rides and tours to raise money to keep old warbirds like this one in the air. I volunteered 8am to 4pm nonstop on Saturday - working the booth, selling T-shirts and such. At the end of the weekend six volunteer names were pulled from a hat - we got to ride the B-17 to it's next stop up in Torrance - about a 45 minute flight. Makes that 25 bucks a year dues totally worth it don't ya think?
