The camera has a full auto setting, but there are 3 user settings where you can customize things like metering, continuous shooting and some other stuff. If you had these set up for 3-4 different shooting situations, you should be able to turn on the camera, choose the user setting in a second, and start shooting. I hope that helps. would like to know if we can take pictures automaticly in fast situations ex:race cars,people dancingin low light,taking the camera out quickly to take a picture right away.just so you know i am taking about a nikon coolpix 5700 and if not what would you recomend.
