32 Legare St. was built before 1740 by Solomon Legare, a Huguenot silversmith.

The Sword Gates of 1848 was designed by Charles Reichardt and crafted by Cristopher Werner.

Reichardt's other designs such as the Guard House and the Charleston Hotel have been lost in history; only the gates now still stands for his legend.
