Muskrat

I believe this is a muskrat verses a beaver - mostly
because of the size (smaller than a beaver)- but I could
be wrong. Never did get to see the tail to know for sure!

Yes, a muskrat. They have more pointy faces than beaver, which have broader faces and broader heads and visible ears, which this doesn't.
