Pushkin / Catherine Palace of Tsarskoye Selo

This palace is a bit over the top. I liked the gardens, but the palace itself was pushing it to the limit. I can see why people started several revolutions at the start of the 20th century.

Thanks for your comment.
I am aware of the slavery issues and the Russian serfdom structure. Most of St. Petersburg is build by serfs and many died in the process.

Thank you so much and congratulations for such a beautiful collection of the Pushkin Palace.
We are having a "Catherine the Great" exhibition at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts at the moment and your photos add great ambiance. Agree however that "slavery" is an essential ingredient for the realization of works of such amplitude.
