It is focused on solitor, it can mainly be seen on the 21/24 area near DIN and the top of the lens. I think it is about the lighting (backlit and some light from the left and right) and the contrast wide open that makes it looks soft. Check some of the better lit subjects at f/1.4 for a good judgement on the sharpness. This test was more for low light focussing and background reproduction.

Hmm.. this one looks very soft compared to next one, taken at f/2.0. Is the lens really this bad at f/1.4, or was there a focusing problem with this shot. It's not clear whats being focused on here...
