These are the stilt houses that the Bajau Laut (indigenous sea faring nomads) live in. They are made of wood sourced from the islands. It's a single room house (no separate bedroom or kitchen) where all family members share this common space. There is no basic sanitation or electricity. These houses are flimsy and vulnerable to the elements. They are also quite flammable.
Really, having a roof over one's head is a blessing we take for granted.
