One of the Bajau Laut or seafaring nomads in Sabah, Malaysia. This is probably the most authentic expression ever, and to me it's priceless.
Just as a background, they are all displaced people, with none of Malaysia, Indonesia or the Philippines wanting to grant them citizenship. Hence the new generation lives as the past one did, unschooled, no permanent home and not even a basic education. I didn't know it at the time, but the children are paid to pose for photos. This girl got the memo but she did not care to even smile. Good for her. She's real.
