The Choptank River group are natural hybrids of R. atlanticum x R. periclymenoides near the headwaters of the Choptank River in Delaware, first collected by Polly Hill in 1957. They are typically fragrant, low growing, stoloniferous, with glaucous bluish green leaves. Flower color is variable, typically pale pink to pale yellow.
