This is a real nice specimen of a Hamsa Hand. This talisman is used in arabic and jewish cults as a protection against evil and evil eye. In jewish it's called hamesh hand and in arabic hamsa. Hamesh and hamsa mean "five" and refers to the five digits of the hand. In other regions of arabic speaking countries like in Tunisia, the hand is called Hand of Fatima and in some jewish regions it's called the hand of Miriam. Good picture and nice object to comment and tell what's the story about.
