I left the site around 11:00 a.m. and proceeded south on Interstate 25 to Silver City. Quick stop at a rest stop and on to Truth or Consequences for gasoline. Found out later that the city is known for their hot baths and Elephant Butte Lake, the largest lake in New Mexico.

Approximately 14 miles south of Truth or Concequences I turned right (west) onto Route 152. The road slowly climbs a long alluvial fan into the foothills through the old mining towns of Hillsboro and Kingston. After Kingston the road became very entertaining and twisty through the mountains all the way to where Route 60 merges with Highway 152 near the town of San Lorenzo.
