USS Arizona Memorial is a national landmark, which marking the remains underwater after a surprised attack by the Japanese forces on the Pacific Fleet in Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941. There were 1,177 crew members lost lives when USS Arizona sank to the ocean floor.
Over a million visited each year. The Memorial is constructed with a 184-foot-long concret structure across the middle of the sunken battleship. This Memorial was designed by Architect Alfred Preis and it was dedicated with fundings from the Congress and public in 1962.
