Hello Awassa..........!!
I visited Ethiopia for the first time from May to June 2009, having lived and travelled around Bole Road and Piassa, A.A. am so touched by the friendliness of the Ethiopians that i met all over Ethiopia, their fascination and aspirations for their beloved country, and also their love and admiration of my country India. I also happened to be in Awassa, which i think is the cleanest and well planned city i've been in Et due to its masterplan etc., and i admire the lake Awassa, the fried fish which was freshly caught at the lake and served in a no frills manner. I was happy i could bless few folks that depend on the tourists that come to taste the fresh Tilapia that was caught just a few minutes ago. However, lake Awassa needs to improve its touristic facilities and strict rules should be enforced to protect the cleanliness around the lake to prevent any forms of abuse and contamination of the precious water resource of lake Awassa. Lake Awassa is a great blessing to Et due to its enormous potential, touristic, commercial and natural. Ethiopia is not what i had earlier thought, and visiting this marvelous country and its historical and natural sites is so thrilling. Awassans must put up more information about this marvelous region on the net, as well as the tourism authorities of Et must take serious note to promote this region. I was shocked that it is so hard to find a authentic map of Et even in the most reputed bookstores such as Mega and Book world, leave alone the govt. tourist offices all over a.a. I would like to request frens from Et if you can guide me on this one, particularly with road and touristic map that is handy to carry around. electricity projects that are nearing completion will be a great boost to Et economy and tourism sector. I love Et and wish to be there very soon. I enjoyed bikin around Awassa, amidst the lovely tree shaded clean and well built roads where i stopped for an occasional coke etc., and the traffic is so less and the whole area is so peaceful for tourists that love peace and tranquility. The view of Awassa from the mount Tabor ?? is breathtaking.... i reachd the mountain top with a fren on a bike!! Very good restaurants that serve fish and meat and juices, and many expensive hotels under constrcution too. I love that one particular tree in the midst of a cafe where i spotted one hundred birds have their nests which is a very pleasant nuisance to me....!!! Not to forget the friendly giant birds and monkeys on the lake shores too. I will be back in Et, and surely back to Awassa and live amongst people that i havn't met or heard before. All friends of Awassa and Et are welcome for a friendly chat with me. my e-mail id is : aubb_seq@yahoo.com
best wishes to all.
currently i live in the middle east.
