Jack Burgess' world-famous HO Yosemite Valley Railroad is set in August 1939. The following is a photo tour of this layout, created for the X2011 West Facebook web page ( http://facebook.com/x2011west ). This is a multi-deck design filling a 20x20 layout room. All of the over 100 structures on the layout are scratchbuilt and the scenery duplicates that along the prototype as it makes its way from Merced, in California's San Joaquin Valley to El Portal at the western boundary of Yosemite National Park. The layout will be on tour during the X2011 West Convention (July 3-9, 2011) in Sacramento and will also be open for visitors during the X2011 West Advance Section in the San Francisco Bay Area, which is during the weekend (July 1-3,2011) before the start of the NMRA National Convention in Sacramento.
